High Point man charged with murder after Monday shooting on Lakecrest Avenue: Police

Police believe the shooting followed an argument between the suspect and the victim.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point man was arrested Monday night after authorities say he shot and killed a Winston-Salem man at an apartment on the 800 block of Lakecrest Avenue.

According to the High Point Police Department, officers responded to the apartment on Monday at 10:25 p.m. in reference to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived, they found 36-year-old Cameron J. Fox dead in the parking lot from an apparent gunshot wound.

Robert O. Bailey, 38, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree murder. According to a press release, detectives believe the shooting followed an argument between Bailey and Fox.

Bailey is being held at the Guilford County Jail in High Point with no bond. The High Point Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to Fox’s death.
