WILMINGTON — UNCW has announced that classes will not resume this week due to the snow.
“This week’s winter weather continues to affect the Wilmington region, and road conditions in the region remain challenging in many areas,” the university wrote in a statement.
Classes and campus events are cancelled through Friday, though campus dining options will be open Thursday and Friday under the following hours:
- The Shore Dining Hall opened at 8 a.m.
- Wagoner Dining Hall opened at 9 a.m.
- Select retail locations across campus will be open, depending on staffing availability
The university will open the Student Recreation Center and the Randall Hall building at UNCW Library from 12 to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Operations in both locations may be reduced due to limited staffing.
UNCW employees will remain under Condition 2 (suspended operations) 5 p.m. on Friday. During this time, the university will remain open on a limited basis but has suspended all but mandatory operations due to minimal staffing levels. Employees designated or temporarily assigned as mandatory must report to work or remain at work as directed; all other employees may not report to work or must leave the workplace when this status takes effect.
The university’s next weather update will be sent by 12 p.m. on Friday unless conditions warrant earlier notification.
