PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — After a mostly cloudy day, clouds will move out through the evening hours, leaving us with mostly clear skies tonight. Temperatures finally reached above freezing this afternoon for the first time since Sunday at 9 p.m. But, we’ll drop right back below freezing this evening with many in the upper 20s by 8 p.m.
Friday morning starts off with temperatures in the low 20s with sunny skies. Afternoon high temperatures reach the low 40s with mostly sunny skies.
We’ll fall back below freezing Friday night with morning lows on Saturday in the low 20s. Afternoon temperatures continue to get a little warmer with highs in the low to mid-40s. Skies remain mostly sunny to kick off the weekend.
Our warming trend continues into Sunday with our warmest temperatures in a week! We’ll start Sunday morning in the mid-20s with afternoon highs in the upper 40s. Skies will be partly cloudy.
A low-pressure system approaches into Monday which could bring a low chance for showers to the Piedmont Triad. Right now, the system looks to mainly stay south of us, but the chance for rain is 20%. Temperatures will be in the low 30s in the morning with highs in the upper 40s.
Mostly sunny skies on Tuesday with temperatures reaching the warmest they’ve been since January 17! Morning lows will be in the low 30s and afternoon highs reach the mid-50s.
Mild and more comfortable weather (for January) continues into Wednesday with lows in the low 30s and highs reaching the mid 50s.
Partly cloudy skies on Thursday with a slight dip in temperatures thanks to a cold front. Morning temperatures start in the low to mid 30s and afternoon highs reach the upper 40s.
