Winston-Salem police said the toddler is listed in critical, life-threatening condition.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A toddler and two adults are in the hospital after a shooting on I-40 in Winston-Salem Monday night, police say.
Around 10:45 p.m., Winston-Salem police responded to a hospital about shooting victims that showed up for treatment.
Officers said two 21-year-old adults and a toddler were shot by an unknown suspect while driving down I-40 East near Buchanan Street.
Derek Garcia Medel is listed in stable condition. The toddler is listed in critical, life-threatening condition.
Police said this appears to be an isolated incident and the investigation is ongoing.
