The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said a teacher at Ledford Middle School was charged with assault stemming from an incident with a student.
DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A teacher is facing an assault charge after an incident with a student.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said Eugena Jones, a teacher at Ledford Middle School, was charged with simple assault stemming from an incident with a student on Dec. 2.
Deputies said Jones brought a girl up for a demonstration, but the demonstration got out of hand and the girl was pushed to the ground.
The victim’s mother told WFMY News 2 that her daughter is very scared and stressed about the whole situation.
The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said their School Resource Officer investigated the incident and spoke with the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office as a result Jones was charged.
Davidson County Schools said as of January 3, Jones has been suspended with pay as the incident is investigated. Her next court date is scheduled for January 23.
