Buncombe County preps for road disruptions during Trump’s Friday visit

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — President Donald Trump is expected to visit western North Carolina on Friday in his first visit to the area as president, according to Buncombe County officials.

The area was devastated by Hurricane Helene in late September, killing more than 100 people in the state and leaving thousands without shelter.

Details on the presidential visit are limited, but Buncombe County officials released a statement on Thursday warning residents to be ready for increased traffic from 11-2 p.m. on Friday.

“Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly,” a spokesperson for the county said.

Details about road closures will be shared if they become available, the spokesperson added.
