(WGHP) – Cloudy skies remain this evening with temperatures in the 60s. Grab a light jacket if you’re heading out for any graduation dinners or early Mother’s Day celebrations. A few of us could see some spotty showers this evening as well so an umbrella may not be a bad idea. Most of us stay try through the end of the day Saturday.
Skies remain cloudy overnight and rain chances increase into Sunday morning. Cloudy skies and scattered showers are in the forecast for Mother’s Day. Temperatures start off in the mid 50s Sunday morning with afternoon highs reaching the mid 60s. The chance for rain Sunday is 50%. Sunday is not expected to be a washout however rain chances will be significantly more widespread into the work week.
A low pressure system is to thank for the several rounds of rainfall expected Monday through Wednesday. Rain chances increase overnight Sunday into Monday and widespread rainfall will continue throughout the day. Temperatures will start in the upper 50s Monday morning with highs in the upper 60s. The chance for rain is 90%.
More rain and even some isolated thunderstorms will be possible on Tuesday as the low pressure system continues to linger over the southeast. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s Tuesday morning with afternoon highs in the mid 70s. The chance for rain and storms Tuesday is 70%.
Mostly cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms possible on Wednesday. Temperatures will be in the low 60s Wednesday morning with highs in the upper 70s. As of right now, Wednesday does not look like a washout by any means. The chance for storms is 60%.
Rain chances start to decrease by the second half of the week but isolated showers remain possible. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds on Thursday with morning lows in the low 60s and afternoon highs reach the mid 80s. The chance for isolated showers is 30%.
Temperatures continue to warm up into Friday and Saturday and a stray shower can’t be ruled out both days. We’ll start both mornings in the mid to upper 60s with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Skies will be partly cloudy with a 20% chance for a stray shower.
