Third suspect charged in southwest Charlotte homicide, CMPD says

Aaron Thompson was found dead inside a car just off Clanton Road on Aug. 11. Three people are charged in connection with his death.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A third person is facing charges in connection with a deadly shooting in southwest Charlotte earlier this month, police said. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported shooting at an apartment building along Caronia Street, which is just off Clanton Road, around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 11. When officers arrived, they found 37-year-old Aaron Remont Thompson dead inside a car. A second victim showed up at a nearby hospital with minor injuries, police said. 

Marcus Watson was arrested a couple of days later. On Aug. 15, CMPD announced it had arrested Devone Jamar Walker in Harrisburg and charged him with felony accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.

On Tuesday, CMPD announced the arrest of 21-year-old Keandre Moore. He is charged with murder for his alleged role in Thompson’s death. He is being held without bond at the Mecklenburg County Jail.
