SWAT agents, heavy police presence at west Charlotte skills arcade

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Multiple people were taken into custody during a SWAT operation at west Charlotte skills arcade on Tuesday morning.

It happened around 7 a.m. at the Shark Tank skill arcade near the Cash America Pawn on Freedom Drive. This is near the Freedom Village Shopping Center in west Charlotte. WCNC Charlotte’s crews saw several Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police cruisers and SWAT officers at the scene.

Multiple people were seen being taken into custody but CMPD hasn’t given any further details on the operation at this time. The front door of the business appeared to be broken down. It’s unclear why officers were called to the business or if anyone was hurt during the incident. CMPD hasn’t identified any of the people taken into custody or announced any charges.
