WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A firefighter has been injured after a crash caused by the snowy conditions in the Triad.
Winston-Salem Fire Department shared photos on their Facebook Tuesday morning of an overturned fire engine, stating that the crash had happened while responding to calls. Icy conditions caused the firetruck to overturn.
Winston-Salem Fire Department said they were responding to a vehicle crash around 5:30 a.m. on Glenn Hi Road and Trotter Farm Road when the crash happened.
“One crew member sustained injuries,” they write on the post.
Snowy, icy conditions throughout the Piedmont Triad are delaying and closing schools and causing multiple crashes across the area.
“Please keep them in your thoughts and remember to drive safely in these hazardous conditions,” the fire department said.
