Panthers GM Dan Morgan understands there's a lot of work do as training camp starts

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Despite Tuesday’s storms, training camp for the Carolina Panthers got underway for veterans on the roster.

The team is coming into camp on the heels of a rough 2-15 season, finishing in last place in the league.

Tuesday morning, General Manager Dan Morgan, second-year quarterback Bryce Young and new Panthers linebacker Jadeveon Clowney all spoke after practice and expressed their excitement as they rolled up their sleeves for a tough road ahead.

“What I do know is that there’s a lot of work ahead of us,” Morgan said. “The players know that they got to put the work in out there, we have a lot of new players that got to gel together out there and become a team.”

There are 40 new faces on the field this season, including veteran linebacker DJ Wonnum and rookie running back Jonathon Brooks.

Morgan also mentioned that Brooks may not appear as much at training camp due to the torn ACL on his right knee.

Practice officially kicks off July 24 at 9:30 a.m. in uptown Charlotte.
