NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Some New Hanover County Schools classrooms will switch to remote learning Thursday, while others will have a delayed start date, due to the impacts of Tropical Storm Debby.
Specialty high schools will defer start dates, with families notified by principals on new dates. It will affect students who attend Wilmington Early College High School, Southeast Area Technical High School, and Isaac Bear Early College High School.
Schools already in session will shift to remote learning on Thursday, Aug. 8. Teachers will provide instructions and resources to Codington Elementary, Eaton Elementary, Snipes Academy of Art and Design, Freeman Elementary, and Lake Forest Elementary students from home.
New Hanover County Schools will continue monitoring weather conditions and provide updates Friday regarding school schedules post-Debby.
