LELAND — After overseeing two hotels in the fastest-growing Brunswick County town, a local management company is hoping to secure another Hilton brand to build in the Waterford area of Leland.

Wilmington-based Crown Hotel & Travel Management signed a purchase agreement for a lot adjacent to its Tru by Hilton at 1462 Olde Waterford Way. Crown is hoping to open a 100-room Hampton Inn & Suites with an indoor pool and meeting space.

It also operates a Holiday Inn Express at nearby Magnolia Greens.

“Leland is a thriving community, and we have been very pleased with the growth in the area. We believe it is a wonderful location and adding our third property in the market, will not only meet the overall demand, but will continue to enhance the hospitality offerings for both residents and visitors.” Barry Eagle, president and CEO of Crown, said in a release.

The target opening for the Hampton is 2026

Crown announced it would partner with Clarendon Properties Wilmington on the project’s overall development.
