Jason Kelce makes special appearance at App State football game, speaks to fans at halftime

The retired NFL player wore black-and-gold overalls to the game and took many pictures with fans.

BOONE, N.C. — A special guest made an appearance at the Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone on Saturday to cheer on Appalachian State’s football team.

Retired NFL player Jason Kelce showed up to the game wearing black-and-gold overalls. He showed off his game-day spirit for the Mountaineers and took many pictures with fans.

WFMY News 2’s Chad Silber even got a selfie with Kelce!


During halftime, Kelce gave a speech to the crowd and urged fans to continue supporting Boone and western North Carolina as the region continues to recover after Hurricane Helene.

App State won 34-20 against James Madison.
