Highs in the low to mid-80s Monday in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies remain this evening with temperatures falling into the 70s by 8 PM. Skies will be mostly clear overnight with temperatures falling into the upper 50s early Monday morning. 

Skies will be partly cloudy on Monday with afternoon highs reaching the low to mid-80s. A stray shower or storm can’t be ruled out Monday afternoon but most will stay dry. The chance for rain is 20%.

A surface low-pressure system will start to approach the Triad on Tuesday which will bring isolated storm chances by Tuesday afternoon and evening. Temperatures will start in the low 60s in the morning with highs in the upper 70s by the afternoon. The chance for storms on Tuesday is 40% but rain and storm chances will increase overnight Tuesday into Wednesday ahead of an approaching cold front. 

Isolated storms will remain possible on Wednesday as the front pushes through. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s Wednesday morning with highs reaching the low to mid-80s.  The chance for isolated storms is 40%. 

Once the cold front moves through, we’ll see a drop in temperatures. Morning temperatures will be in the upper 50s Thursday with afternoon highs in the low to mid 70s. Skies will be mostly sunny. A stray shower can’t be ruled out but the chance for rain is 20%. 

We’ll be mostly sunny on Friday with morning lows in the low 50s and highs reaching the low 70s. We’ll hold on to mostly sunny skies into the start of Memorial Day weekend. Saturday will start off chilly with morning lows in the upper 40s and afternoon highs reaching the low to mid 70s. 

Partly cloudy skies into Sunday and Monday with morning lows in the 50s and afternoon highs in the mid-70s.
