The shooting happened along West Sugar Creek Road, near Hidden Valley Road, at the Evoke Living at Sugar Creek Apartments around 3 a.m., officers said.
One person was found with a gunshot wound and died at the scene, CMPD said.
A WCNC Charlotte crew observed several crime scene investigators and detectives on scene. No word on if there are any known suspects at this time.
