A Bessemer City man is facing charges after police said he clipped a vehicle in an intersection, sending another driver into a house.
GASTONIA, N.C. — A driver wanted in connection with a hit-and-run that caused a car to crash into a home last month was arrested, Gastonia Police said.
Officers responded to a crash at the intersection of New Hope Road and Court Drive on Aug. 30. When police arrived, they found a car had crashed into a home on the corner. Both people inside the car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, detectives said.
On Tuesday, Gastonia police announced that the driver of a van that drove away from the scene after clipping the vehicle that crashed into the house had been arrested. The driver was identified as Logan Thomas Bowling, from Bessemer City. He was charged with felony hit-and-run and unsafe movement of a vehicle in connection with the crash.
Detectives said a tip led them to Bowling’s workplace where he was taken into custody.
Note: WCNC instituted a policy in March 2021 regarding the broadcast or posting of mugshots.
WCNC will only air or post a mugshot if the person has been formally charged with a crime and in a few other cases. The exceptions include: If it appears the person could be a danger to themselves or others or if they are wanted by authorities; to differentiate between people with a common name; if the photos could encourage more victims to come forward. The news-editorial leadership may also decide to use a mugshot based on the severity of the crime(s) committed and/or the level of public interest in the crime and ensuing criminal proceedings.
