Piedmont Triad to see thunderstorms Tuesday

(WGHP) — A large upper low-pressure system will keep scattered showers and thunderstorms in the forecast.

At different times during the day on Tuesday, we will see scattered showers and thunderstorms. The rain could be heavy in some neighborhoods. Highs on Tuesday will be in the mid to perhaps upper 70s. Chance of rain 80%.

The upper low will wobble away from the Carolinas on Wednesday. But the system will still be close enough to bring us scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 70s. Chance of rain 60%.

Thursday will be a mostly dry, but muggy day. Under partly sunny skies, our highs will be in the low to middle 80s. With daytime heating, we could pop a few isolated thunderstorms. Chance of rain 25%.

An approaching cold front will bring scattered afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms back to the Piedmont. Highs on Friday will be in the mid to upper 80s. Chance of rain 40%.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast for Saturday. Highs on Saturday will be in the middle 80s. Chance of rain 40%.

Behind the cold front, it will turn slightly cooler and less humid. Under partly sunny skies, our highs will be in the lower 80s. Chance of rain 20%.

Monday, partly sunny with highs in the lower 80s.
