The Wolfpack defeated the Catamounts, 38-21, last Thursday.
RALEIGH, N.C. — The latest edition of the Associated Press Top 25 poll has been released after Week 1’s games, and the only local school with a spot in the ranking is North Carolina State.
The Wolfpack are ranked No. 25 in the latest poll, dropping one spot from last week’s ranking of No. 24. Head coach Dave Doeren’s team opened the 2024 season last Thursday with a 38-21 win over Western Carolina.
New N.C. State quarterback Grayson McCall, a transfer from Coastal Carolina, was 26-of-40 for 318 yards, three touchdowns — all of which went to Kevin Concepcion — and one interception. The Wolfpack scored the final 21 points of the game after Western took a 21-17 lead late in the third quarter.
The Wolfpack will face one of their toughest tests of the season in Week 2 as they face No. 12 Tennessee on Saturday night at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The last time these two teams met was in 2012, when the Volunteers defeated N.C. State, 35-21.
