PENDER COUNTY — Early Tuesday morning, Pender County Utilities received an alert of a possible main break in Rocky Point.

The main ruptured at 10118 U.S. Highway 117 and has shuttered water from Rocky Point Elementary School Road to Woodhaven Drive, affecting roughly 250 customers. Crews are transporting equipment to the area.

It will take anywhere from four to six hours to correct the break and a water-boil advisory will likely take place once water is turned back on.
