14-year-old girl missing, last seen getting into a car, Burlington police say

BURLINGTON, N.C. — The Burlington Police Department is investigating the disappearance of a teenage girl who they’ve considered missing and endangered.

On Aug. 23, officers said they received a call reporting that Mya Savannah Johnson, 14, had vanished. She’s described as a Black female, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Police said Johnson was last seen on Aug. 23 at 4:45 p.m. at 323 Brooklyn St. in Burlington. She was wearing a black shirt and black spandex bottoms. 

According to the release, she was seen getting into a black Hyundai Veloster, which “left in an unknown direction” in Guilford County.

Johnson is described as cognitively impaired.
