York County men charged with possessing, distributing child sex abuse material

A single cyber tip led investigators to all three men.

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Editor’s Note: This story briefly mentions sexual crimes committed against children. While nothing is described in detail, reader discretion is advised.

Three York County men are now accused of possessing and sharing child sex abuse material.

The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office announced the arrests on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Investigators said all three were discovered because of a single cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. 

The three men arrested were:

  • Robert Glenn Sanders, 26, of Rock Hill
  • Beniamin Ungur, 32, of Clover
  • Frederick Daniel Dunn, 59, of Rock Hill

Sanders was arrested on Aug. 7. He is accused of distributing child sex abuse material. He now faces three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison.

Ungur and Dunn were both arrested on Aug. 13. Ungur is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. If convicted, Ungur could be sentenced to up to 50 years in prison.

Dunn was charged with five counts each of second-degree and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. If found guilty, he could face up to 100 years in prison.

The Attorney General’s Office notes it and other agencies have begun using the term child sexual abuse material as the term “child pornography” implies a child can be a consenting participant.
