WINSTON SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — In Winston Salem, city crews were out working hard to prepare for the rain expected Friday morning.
Water systems in the Triad are already feeling the pressure after the rain the Triad has seen over the past week.
The crew was working fast to get all the debris, trash and leaves off the drains so that when heavy rain makes its way to the Triad, it wil have somewhere to go.
Residents at the Creekwood Apartments say every time there is heavy rain, they typically see flooding.
One man says he’s already taking the steps to prevent any major damages.
“It is scary because you could lose a lot of stuff, and you’d have to start over. But as long as … you’ve been in this situation, you know what to do. We sat everything on the kitchen table and on the couches in the living room,” said resident of Creekwood Apartments of Larry Blackburn
Some residents planned to leave Thursday night while others said they were going to stay.
