Winston-Salem Dollar General robbed at gunpoint: Police

The clerk suffered a minor injury, according to a public record release.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Dollar General on S. Main St. in Winston-Salem was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, according to the Winsrton-Salem Police Department.

According to police, officers responded at approximately 7:30 p.m. to a call of an armed robbery. When they arrived at the Dollar General, they were informed that a suspect entered the business with a handgun and forced the clerk to give him money from the safe.

The burglar made off with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. The clerk also suffered a minor injury after the suspect struck him in the head in the process of the robbery. The clerk was treated on scene by EMS.
