UNCG police arrest suspect connected to Tate St. incident in Greensboro

UNCG students received an alert regarding an armed subject on Saturday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a man was arrested in connection to an incident on Tate Street and Oakland Ave.

Police said a weapons violation call came in around 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24.

UNC-Greensboro students received an alert regarding an “armed subject”.

Officers said a man took out a weapon in the area and took off when he saw police.

Police found the suspect’s weapon in the woods.

UNCG officers arrested Lamar Hemingway, 32, on Sunday, Aug. 25.

Hemingway is facing 10 charges, including felony weapons charges, trespassing, resisting a public officer and more.
