WILMINGTON — Vampires in concert … well, sort of.
Wilson Center will welcome a fall event that will put concert- and movie-goers in the Halloween spirit as “Twilight in Concert” comes to life. The film screening will synchronize to a 12-piece ensemble of orchestral musicians performing the score on a candlelit stage as the film screens. The event takes place on Oct. 21, 7 p.m. for a one-night show only, as part of a 60-city tour, produced by GEA Live in association with Lionsgate.
“Twilight” is celebrating 20 years since the first romance-fantasy novel by Stephenie Meyer was released in the four-book series. To date, it has sold 160 million copies globally.
The story follows a young teen, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who moves to the town of Forks, Washington, and meets the mysterious Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), who also happens to be a vampire. A love story ensures and Edward must fight his bloodlust thirst as he falls in love with the young girl.
The first “Twilight” film came out in 2008, followed by four more, the last released in 2012. The Twilight Saga remains one of the most successful young adult franchises in cinematic history, grossing $3.3. billion at box offices worldwide.
Tickets are available to Wilson Center members as of Wednesday, but go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 11, 10 a.m., here.
