CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Some travelers at Charlotte’s airport are facing flight delays and cancelations as a severe weather system pushes into the area early Sunday morning with the threat of heavy rain, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

As of 6 a.m., there were a total of 24 flight delays in and out of the Charlotte airport and 47 flights were canceled.Â
