WILMINGTON — Uplifting summer vibes will be the sounds of reggae over the Cape Fear River, as two bands have been announced to perform at a downtown pier.

The Coast 2 Coast Summer Tour featuring The Movement and Tribal Seeds with Mike Love will land at the Pier at Port City Marina on June 24. It’s the first of many shows headed to the pier this year from Harbor Presents.

The Movement draws inspiration from Sublime, 311 and Slightly Stoopid, consisting of founding member, lead vocalist and guitarist Joshua Swain, bassist Jason Schmidt, drummer Gary Jackson, keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Matt Goodwin, and saxophonist/percussionist Kyle Jerome. To date, the band has released seven studio albums, including 2022’s “Always With Me.”

Joining them will be Tribal Seeds, best known for its spiritually driven rock-roots style. Members include Victor Navarro (bass), Ryan “Gonzo” Gonzales (guitar, vocals), Luis Castillo (keyboards, vocals), Danny Lopilato (keyboards, vocals) and Jamey “Zeb” Dekofsky (drums). They’ve released eight albums to date, including 2024’s “Ancient Blood.”

Tickets to the show are $40, on sale here; partial proceeds also support area nonprofits. Doors are at 5 p.m.
