SAN ANTONIO — A man was robbed and beaten following an apparent road rage incident on the north side Friday night, authorities said.
San Antonio police responded to a robbery call on the 11400 block of West Avenue around 11:50 p.m.
Police said a man identified as Corey Williams, 25, was driving and started following another man for allegedly cutting him off on the road.
Authorities said Williams followed the man to his place of work. Williams exited his vehicle and began taking pictures of the man’s car which sparked an argument.
The man then started taking pictures of William’s vehicle. Williams attempted to take the man’s phone and then proceeded to punch the man repeatedly until he was unconscious, police said.
Police said Williams took the man’s phone and drove away before later discarding the cellphone.
Sometime later the man called police informing them of the robbery. Police found the man’s phone in a nearby area.
Investigators were able to locate Williams based on the pictures of his vehicle and license plate.
Robbery Task Force Detectives arrested Williams at his home without incident.
He was booked on the charge of robbery.
