Sunny skies, high of 79 on Friday in the Triad

You made it to Friday!  We’re starting with sunny skies, but clouds will make their way in by this afternoon.  No worries, there isn’t any rain in the forecast for today or tonight. 

Highs are going to rise to near 80° this afternoon, then cool back to the mid-70s as area football games get underway.

 Make sure to tune in to FOX8 High School Football Frenzy after the FOX8 10 o’clock News for all the highlights and scores!  Lows overnight will be in the mid-60s under cloudy skies.

Two rainmakers are headed toward NC on Saturday, but it looks like the Piedmont will be spared measurable rainfall for the most part. 

There is a cold front coming in from the west that will cross the Triad mid-afternoon and a coastal low that is going to run parallel to the Carolina coastlines.  The result is steady rain for eastern NC and between zero and a few hundredths of an inch here in the FOX8 viewing area on Saturday. 

This is a great outlook for the NC Folk Festival in Downtown Greensboro!  Highs will be near 80° and the chance of rain is 20%.

Once the cold front heads to our east, our skies will clear out and some modestly cooler air moves in!  Sunday, enjoy mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s.  

High pressure is going to nose down the East Coast next week, so the first days of the new work week will also be sunny. 

We’ll have partly cloudy skies Wednesday and Thursday, and highs all week are going to stay within a degree of 80°.
