PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Skies are steadily clearing out this morning, and we’ll have a lot of sunshine to enjoy today.  Highs are going to rise to the upper-70s with low humidity.

It will stay clear overnight with lows in the mid-50s.

High pressure slips off to our east, into the Atlantic, tomorrow. The result will be warmer conditions across the Piedmont with increasing humidity as we roll through the work week.  Highs tomorrow will be in the mid-80s under sunny skies. Wednesday will also be in the mid-80s, but with some high clouds starting to creep into our skies.

A slow-moving system around the Mississippi River Valley is going to help push warmer, muggier air into the Carolinas by the end of the work week.  Our skies will become partly cloudy on Thursday with highs in the mid- to upper-80’s, then we’re expecting highs to be soundly in the upper-80’s Friday and Saturday. There will be a 20% chance of afternoon showers on both of those days, accompanying the warmer temperatures and higher humidity. On Sunday, we’ll have scattered thunderstorms to look for by the afternoon and early evening.  Highs on Sunday are going to return to the mid-80s.
