KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — When Stewart-Haas Racing shuts down its garage at the end of this NASCAR season, 323 people will be out of a job.

Some of those laid-off employees will reportedly join Gene Haas’ new venture, Haas Racing Factory. The team will host a single car in next year’s Cup Series and two in the Xfinity Series.

Stewart-Haas Racing announced back in May 2024 that its garage was shutting down. According to a notice filed on Aug. 19, 2024, with the N.C. Department of Commerce, the closure will be effective on Dec. 31, 2024.

The permanent closure of Stewart-Haas Racing, at 6001 Haas Way, will impact 323 people.

The NASCAR season ends on Sunday, November 10.
