CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Waking up in the morning in the winter means you will see some below-freezing temperatures.
During these winter months, some things in your car just don’t work as well as they do in the warmer months.
WCNC Charlotte is looking into whether you should use your windshield wiper fluid in freezing temperatures.

WHAT WE FOUND:
According to AutoZone, wiper fluid typically consists of water and special additives.Â
When the temperature drops lower or sooner than expected, the water in your wiper fluid mixture can freeze.
If it’s below 32 degrees outside, this can cause the mixture to freeze on your windshield. That can cause lower visibility and mean unsafe driving.
AAA suggests using a solution with antifreeze properties during the winter months.
AutoZone said to look for something on wiper fluid labels that indicate it’s for cold weather use. These can withstand temperatures up to 30 degrees below zero.
