All district events and after-school activities, as well as athletic events, were canceled on Thursday and Friday, officials said. CMS schools will resume normal operations on Monday.

In York County, the Clover School District said students would move to eLearning on Friday ahead of severe weather. York School District One also confirmed students would move to an e-Learning Day on Friday and that all after-school activities and athletic events were canceled.Â
Fort Mill School District will be closed on Friday, according to district officials.
Tropical storm watches and warnings are in place, including portions of our viewing area. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Mecklenburg, Union, York, Chester, Gaston, Lincoln, Catawba, Cleveland, Burke, Caldwell and Avery counties. Impacted cities and towns include Banner Elk, Shelby, Lenoir, Morganton, Hickory, Newton, Gastonia, Charlotte, Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Chester, Lincolnton, Monroe, Huntersville, Matthews, and Cheraw.
