Police search for car involved in deadly hit-and-run in Burlington

Police responded to a hit-and-run on Maple Ave.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a car they believe was involved in a deadly hit-and-run Friday.

Burlington police said they along with the Burlington Fire Department responded to a hit-and-run crash on the 2700 Block of Maple Ave. involving a man on a bicycle.

Officers said the man on the bicycle was identified as Michael Blake Hensley, 31, from Burlington.

Police said he died from his injuries at the scene.

The Burlington Police Department said they are looking for an older model SUV with noticeable front-end damage that was reported to have last been seen traveling north on Maple Ave.
