Police looking for car tied to shooting in Albemarle

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — A shooting sent two victims to the hospital early Saturday morning, and now investigators are looking for a car tied to the incident.

The Albemarle Police Department said it happened shortly after 2 a.m. along NC-24 near the 27 Bypass. Two female victims were rushed for treatment. One was treated and released, but the second victim faces life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the shooting appeared to be tied to a domestic situation.

The car in question is identified as a 2017 Chevy Malibu sedan. It’s silver and has a temporary North Carolina tag on it: VZ-41891. The car also has a noticeable dent in the passenger door.

Police have provided a photo that represents what the car should look like.
