Two people were hurt in Tuesday’s robbery.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An investigation is underway after a CVS in Plaza Midwood was robbed Tuesday evening, leaving two people injured.
According to the incident report from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, one of the suspects tried to leave the store without paying for merchandise and hit someone in the head with a weapon on the way out.
The report says another suspect assaulted a woman.
People in the area said they’re surprised this happened here because the area is “typically safe.”
“[I’m] not surprised because it’s Charlotte, but surprised because of the area,” Plaza Midwood resident Gregory Lawrence told WCNC Charlotte’s Anna King. “Typically it’s safe here. I normally feel at peace.”
Another resident, Brendan Kelly, said he was not surprised at all.
“It’s the city, it happens all the time – no matter where you are,” Kelly said. “Robberies can happen anywhere in the city so I’m not surprised or worried either.”
Both victims in this robbery are expected to be okay.
CMPD says the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
