Piedmont Triad has chance of seeing snow Tuesday morning

(WGHP) — A cold evening in the Piedmont Triad with temperatures in the mid 30s once the sun goes down and feels-like temperatures in the 20s. We’ll start to see clouds rolling in this evening with cloudy skies overnight.

We also have the potential for snow showers late tonight into early Tuesday morning between 11 PM and 4 AM. Not everyone will see snow, but a light dusting is possible in the southern portions of the Piedmont Triad with the better potential in Davidson, Randolph and Montgomery counties. This is a low impact event but watch for slick spots on bridges and overpasses if you’ll be traveling during the overnight hours.

Temperatures will be frigid by Tuesday morning with many waking up in the low 20s and feels like temperatures in the 10s. Sunshine dominates for the second day of the week but it doesn’t do much to warm us up, we’ll see highs in the low 40s with feels like temperatures in the mid 30s due to northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph.

We’ll be even colder Wednesday morning with many waking up in the 10s. Afternoon high temperatures reach the mid 40s and southwest winds will be breezy at 10 to 15 mph.

Winds get even stronger into Thursday with our next cold front. Northwest winds will be between 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 35-40 mph possible. Skies will be mostly sunny with morning temperatures in the mid 30s and highs in the low 50s. Temperatures will fall throughout the afternoon with the coldest part of the day happening in the evening.

Sunny skies and frigid temperatures Friday morning with many waking up in the low 20s. Afternoon temperatures will struggle to reach the low 40s with northwest winds remaining breezy at 5 to 15 mph.

Partly cloudy skies for the weekend with temperatures increasing slightly. We’ll be in the low 20s Saturday morning with highs in the mid 40s but by Sunday morning temperatures will be in the upper 20s with highs in the low 50s. Low rain chances return by the end of the weekend with a 20% chance for rain on Sunday.

A better chance for rain on Monday with temperatures in the mid 30s in the morning and highs in the low 50s. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a 30% chance for showers.
