Piedmont Triad could see showers, thunderstorms

(WGHP) — Showers and isolated thunderstorms remain possible this evening. A few of the stronger storms may be severe for damaging winds and large hail, similar to what was seen in portions of Randolph county Monday afternoon. Temperatures will vary upon location due to scattered showers and storms. If you’re seeing storms, temperatures will likely be slightly cooler but generally we’ll remain in the low 70s through 8 PM. 

Skies will be mostly cloudy Tuesday night with isolated showers possible overnight. Temperatures will start off in the upper 50s Wednesday morning. Stray to isolated showers will be possible off and on throughout the day Wednesday and skies will be a mix of clouds and sun. Although most look to stay dry on Wednesday, giving us a quieter weather day through a stretch of active weather. Afternoon highs reach the mid 70s. The chance for rain on Wednesday is 30% with increasing rain chances by Wednesday evening and Wednesday night. 

Our rainy pattern continues into Thursday with a 40% chance for scattered showers. Temperatures will start off in the low 60s in the morning and highs will reach the mid 70s. 

Showers and isolated storms will be possible on Friday with a 60% chance for rain/storms. Morning lows will be in the low 60s and afternoon highs reach the upper 70s. 

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible on Saturday as the stalled out front finally starts to move. We’ll also see some warmer temperatures on Saturday before the front moves through. Morning lows will be in the low 60s and afternoon highs will reach the upper 70s and low 80s. The chance for scattered storms is 60%. 

Behind the front, we’ll see temperatures slightly cooler on Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will start in the mid 50s and afternoon highs will reach the low 70s. 

Partly cloudy skies remain into the start of next week and temperatures get slightly warmer each day. On Monday, we’ll start in the low 50s in the morning and highs will reach the mid 70s. On Tuesday, morning lows start in the mid 50s and highs reach the low 80s.
