(WGHP) — The Piedmont will have one more day with 90 degree heat.
Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies during the afternoon. Highs will be in the middle 90s. Our heat index or feels like temperatures will be near 100 degrees. With daytime heating, a few afternoon thunderstorms are possible. A cold front coming out of Virginia could bring the Piedmont another round of thunderstorms Thursday night. Chance of rain between 20% and 30%.
The cold front will stall across the region on Friday, keeping scattered thunderstorms in the forecast. Highs on Friday will be in the upper 80s. Chance of rain 40%.
Scattered showers and thunderstorm chances will continue into Saturday with highs around 90 degrees. Chance of rain 40%.
Another cold front will increase our thunderstorm chances on Sunday. Our afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s. Chance of rain 50%.
The cold front will slowly make its way across the state on Labor Day Monday. Look for partly cloudy skies with highs in the middle 80s. Chance of rain 30%.
Behind the cold front, cooler and less humid air will move in. Partly cloudy skies for Tuesday with highs in the middle 70s.
A cool northeast wind will keep clouds in the Piedmont with lows around 60 degrees and highs in the low to middle 70s. Chance of rain 30%.
