WILMINGTON — United Airlines, one of numerous carriers out of Wilmington International Airport, has announced new flights for 2025.

Starting summer next year, the airline is offering a new nonstop to Denver, Colorado — known as the “outdoor capital of the U.S.” — on Saturdays. It’s also increasing service to Chicago next summer with daily flights.

In 2023, the airline flew to Chicago O’Hare weekends only, but demand was high, it noted in a release on Thursday.

This will be the first flights offered directly to Denver from ILM.

“Denver has been a top unserved market for Wilmington,” Jeff Bourk, ILM airport director, said in a release.

United now serves three of its mainland hubs from Wilmington, Chicago, Denver, and New York/Newark. Other hubs include Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco and D.C.

“Chicago and Denver are not only fantastic cities to visit, but they are home to our two largest hubs, helping to unlock travel to the most popular destinations,” Managing Director of Domestic Planning for United Mark Weithofer said.
