NORTH CAROLINA — The North Carolina Chamber of Commerce Foundation is launching a program to train around 40 individuals from the community college system and business and healthcare communities to improve the state’s pipeline between education and employment.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation selected the NC Chamber Foundation and community college system to launch a Career Readiness Talent Pipeline Management Academy in North Carolina. It will run from August to December and train participants in workforce development programs that identify needed skills in the state’s job market. The program also seeks to create better employment opportunities for disadvantaged communities and adult students of color. The Lumina Foundation will also provide support to the program.

“TPM is a nationally recognized program that has helped businesses across sectors transform workforce pipelines,” Meredith Archie, president of the NC Chamber Foundation, said in a press release Thursday. “We are thrilled to continue expanding the program’s footprint in North Carolina with a specific focus on building programs that will reach opportunity populations.”
