ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A homicide investigation has begun after a man was found dead at a Rowan County home Saturday afternoon.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said it was called to a home along Hardy Lane – just outside of the Woodleaf community – around 2:30 p.m. for a shooting. Deputies said they found 45-year-old Elliott Rudolph Wilds suffering from several gunshot wounds. Wilds later died of his injuries.
As of publication, deputies have not made an arrest. Further information in the case has been promised. The sheriff’s office shared its condolences for Wilds’ family.
