Man arrested in Forsyth County, charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of minor: Task force

Paul Redfearn Smith is being held on a $1 million secured bond.

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Members of the Invictus Task Force arrested a 73-year-old man in Forsyth County on Thursday and charged him with 10 counts of 2nd-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to a press release.

The Invictus Task Force conducted a joint investigation with the FBI after receiving cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Forsyth County. As a result of the investigation, Paul Redfearn Smith was arrested and transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center.

Smith is being held on a $1 million secured bond.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Invictus Task Force Representatives.

According to its website, the Invictus Task Force is a combined initiative of federal, state and local law enforcement “working together to pursue those who seek to harm our children by exploiting them sexually, both online and in person.
