CHARLOTTE, N.C. — WCNC Charlotte has chosen to use this mugshot because of the nature of the alleged crime.
A man is facing charges this week after the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said he attacked and killed someone on Sunday.
The department announced the arrest of 29-year-old Daniel Sansone on Tuesday. CMPD said officers were called to a home along Arbor Crest Court in the north part of the city around 1 a.m. Sunday. Officers found 65-year-old Edward Sansone Jr. suffering from injuries that appeared to be the result of a physical assault.
Sansone Jr. was taken to a hospital for treatment. However, he died of his injuries a day later. His family members have been notified of his death.
Daniel Sansone is now charged with murder. Court records indicate he was denied bond and will next be in court on Dec. 27, 2024.
