Lockdown lifted at Charlotte elementary school

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A lockdown was put in place at Oakdale Elementary School in north Charlotte after a “disturbance during morning arrival” Wednesday morning, school district officials confirmed. The lockdown has since been lifted.

An employee at a nearby day care told WCNC Charlotte the day care was put on lockdown as well.  

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told WCNC Charlotte it did not have any information to share at this time. WCNC charlotte is working to learn more about the nature of the disturbance and if there were any other impacts from the lockdown.
