Juvenile shot in Burlington — police investigating

The incident occurred Monday night and the victim was transported to a local hospital.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — The Burlington Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night on the 700 block of Shawnee Drive.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 8:18 p.m. Monday night, according to a press release. When they arrived on scene, they found one person — a juvenile — suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, and his injuries appear to be non-life threatening. More information will be released in the near future.

Burlington police ask that anyone with information about the incident Monday night contact either the PD directly at 336-229-3500 or Alamance-County-Wide Crimestoppers at 336-229-7100 to submit a tip anonymously.
