Thursday’s visit will be Vance’s first time in North Carolina since joining Trump’s campaign.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Former President Donald Trump’s running mate Sen. JD Vance will be making two stops in North Carolina on Thursday, Aug. 8.

Vance will make remarks at the Raleigh Union Station  at 9 a.m.

Vance will also stop in Oakboro, NC at the Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Co. in Stanly County.

Vance’s event in Raleigh is scheduled for the same day as Vice President Kamala Harris‘ stop in Raleigh with the vice presidential pick. Harris is expected to name her running mate on Tuesday after meeting with several top candidates.

Thursday’s visit will be Vance’s first time in North Carolina since joining Trump’s campaign. The former president won North Carolina in 2016 and 2020, though his margin in 2020 shrunk to less than 1.5%, the tightest of any state that Trump won during his reelection campaign.
