INDIAN LAND, S.C. — The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office put out a notice Monday asking people for help locating a man allegedly connected to multiple package thefts in the Indian Land area.
Multiple videos show the person going to people’s porches, snagging their packages, and speeding off.
Since Monday, more people in the area have gone online to report missing packages.
“It’s like, I’ve had $200 worth of gifts stolen or packages stolen off my front porch,” Indian Land resident Randall Bray said while detailing the multiple reports he’s seen.
Another resident – who didn’t want to go on camera – said he reported a missing package just yesterday.
“A buddy of mine rode by and said, ‘Hey Steve, you have a couple packages on the front porch,’” he said. “It was about 35-40 minutes — I get home and both packages were gone.”
He said luckily it was just some clothes in the package he was waiting on, but he hopes this problem is resolved soon.
“What’s the matter with people? Are they that low they have to steal some packages being delivered?” he asked. “I mean, it’s people out there riding around bumping into you in cars to collect insurance. It’s all kinds of scammers out there. So, you just have to watch your back.”
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information on the identity of the person in the videos to contact them at 803-283-3388.
