ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — Sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina will be shut down starting Wednesday afternoon as a result of “predecessor” rainfall ahead of Hurricane Helene, according to the National Park Service.

Heavy rains, flooding and strong winds are expected to impact the region over the coming days and the following sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway are being shut down as a result:

  • Milepost 393 – 455 from the NC191/French Broad overlook to Soco Gap
